Who's kidding whom with loan approval offers?

I just don't get it. Every day I get email messages with nonsensical subjects and when I bother to delve inside, find messages like this:

Alert, This is your Second Notification:

Thank you for your recent inquiry, we have been notified that two lenders are interested in offering you a deal. Remember, for this special offer past credit history is not a factor.

In accordance with our terms please verify your information on our secure, private site to ensure our records are accurate.

What I don't get is: does anyone really trust a lender or lender broker who can't even use a legitimate subject and sends this sort of crass and idiotic come-on message? I know that spam is all about the "one in a million", but I find it hard to believe that there's even one in a million stupid enough to respond to this kind of message.

What do you think?
