Want good credit? Be on time . . .

You want to have good credit, you really do . . .but, some times the bills . . . there are so many of them, darn it. Send your payment two days tardy (after the due date) you get a 30 day late mark on your credit report. And then the next bill has a late payment finance charge tacked on to it.

This can happen so easily, and we all know that no one is perfect, how do you keep track of your bills when you have so many?

Well, you can do a few things to help yourself:

1. Cut some of the stuff. Less bills, less chance of forgetting one.

2. Call your creditors and ask them to change the "due date." Making all your bills due within a five (5) day period of each other, so you know exactly when your "time of the month" arrives.

3. Keep track of your bills online or using your PDA. There are several websites that can help you do this now (in alpha order).

budgetEDGE.com

Buxfer.com

Clearcheckbook.com

Geezeo.com

Mint.com

Moneytrackin.com

Myspendingplan.com

TrackYourBudget.com

Wesabe.com

Opening an account with many of these websites is completely free. They make sure to keep data safe, so don't fear for your financial information. You can use the free web-based financial software to not only track your bills, but to control spending (tracking where your money goes).

A few of the sites (like Wasabe.com) even act as social networking site by allowing you to participate with groups of people that share a direct financial goal like creating an emergency fund, or saving for college, or buying a house.

Obviously there are a lot of people in need of bill tracking or there won't be so many websites dealing with the issue. Now you have no excuse, pristine credit history, here we come!
