Refinancing your debt through BankOne

Not sure whether every gets these or not, but my wife and I got some pretty cool checks from BankOne tied to our credit card: we can write checks up to our credit limit and the interest rate on the life of the balance is a tiny 3.99% APR. Not a bad deal if you were struggling paying off a 17% or higher credit card debt on a different card.

There's small print - of course - including a 3% transaction fee. Then there's the completely incomprehensible "payment allocation" explanation, which makes no sense to my wife or me: "We will allocate payments to promotional and introductory balances with low APRs before applying payments to higher APR balances. This means the length of your promotional period may vary baed on the amount of your monthly payments and the APRs on other balances on this account."

Anyway, if you're interested, you might call up BankOne or visit their cardmember services site for more information.
