Paypal ATM/debit card update

I was wrong in my previous posting. After looking at the credit card information on Paypal I realized that a credit card wasn't what I wanted at all. What I wanted was a debit card, a card that worked against our balance on Paypal. So I applied for it online (which took all of about 90 seconds) and ...

The application is easy to fill out, and if you're logged in to your Paypal account, the link is on the left side near the top: Activate Debit Card.

Click on that, fill in the few informational fields they want, and hopefully you'll get a positive response as we did within just two hours:

Congratulations! Your request for the PayPal ATM/Debit Card has been processed and approved. Your card is being manufactured and will arrive
within 1 to 2 weeks.

With it, you will be able to access your PayPal balance instantly. Use it to pay for purchases at any store accepting MasterCard or to withdraw funds at ATMs.

And so, we'll see how it goes. The deal is pretty good, but it's a wee bit annoying that each time we use it as an ATM card at an ATM machine there's a $1 fee from Paypal. But it's sure easier and more convenient than waiting for checks to be mailed!
